The Hubble Space Telescope has taken images of a process called ram pressure stripping going on in the Norma cluster - about 200 million light years from the Milky Way. It's happening as the spiral galaxy ESO 137-001 passes through an area of superheated gas, stripping away gas from it's own formation. And it looks absolutely amazingly beautiful!
